Aparna flew up to the Bay area where I was an intern and staying with Mani in Daly City. Aparna and I decided to get on the road and go on a long drive. I had heard of Point Reyes from Abhimanyu, who was all praises for the place, so I decided to drive there. Along the way was the Muir woods park so that would be a good place to spend some time. We started off early in the morning and drove up to Muir woods. The drive to Muir woods was very scenic.
There was nice trail inside Muir woods among the giant redwood trees, which was a very pleasurable walk. There was a nice stream through the trail. The canopy of tall trees with the sunlight filtering through.
There was a thick fallen trunk over the stream and we walked over it. Some trees had burrows larger than people so we could fit in.
After Muir woods we continued our drive towards point Reyes. The drive to point was very scenic. The most characteristic thing about point Reyes was the wind. It feels as if there is a perpetual cyclone here. Even the trees grow tilted in the direction of the wind. Standing at the edge on point Reyes felt as if we were at the edge of the Earth itself.
